Thursday September 30th is International Translation Day!

Each year September 30th marks International Translation Day around the world. Originated in 1991 by FIT (the International Federation of Translators), International Translation Day is an opportunity to recognize a profession that is growing and becoming increasingly essential in this era of progressing globalization.

The date September 30th marks the feast of St. Jerome in the bible. St. Jerome is considered the “patron saint of t Translators.” Although marked by this day, international translation day is not necessarily a Christian holiday and is meant to be celebrated worldwide.
