TaylaNine-year-old Tayla Reynolds has become one of the youngest people to learn the art of sign language.  In just six months, she has mastered 600 hand movements and can communicate with others proficient in British Sign Language.  Tayla was inspired to earn her level I certificate from her mom, Debbie, who is hard of hearing.  She is now moving on to her level II certificate.

In 2004, British Sign Language was recognized by the government as an official language.  Approximately seventy thousand to a quarter of a million speakers currently use British Sign Langauge on a daily basis.
