How did you get into the field of professional interpretation?

I’ve had an interest in interpreting since I was a child! After graduating from high school, I attended Universidad del Salvador in Buenos Aires, where I majored in Conference Interpreting.

What do you find most rewarding about your profession?

It’s a great feeling to know the service you’re providing is making a real difference in peoples lives!

What motivates you?

For me, motivation comes from helping people communicate. This is what inspires me to continue doing what I do every day.

Have any advice for someone looking to get into this line of work?

I do! Interpreting is a kind of “art” that needs to be kept alive, so you should never stop learning and polishing your skills. Always be curious.

LSA’s committed to customer service excellence. As a telephonic interpreter, how do you provide exceptional customer service to LSA’s clients?

I try to put myself in the client’s or LEP speaker’s shoes, and I think about how I would want to be treated in that situation.

Can you name a few things the LSA team might be surprised to know about you?

  • I lived in Costa Rica for 10 years and it was great.
  • I took French in Costa Rica and France (I love the language, although I should practice more!).
  • I also majored in acting, clown and voice-over at Universidad del Salvador.
  • I work with an NGO that organizes medical trips in Central America; I’m responsible for supervising a group of medical interpreters.
  • I am a coffee addict!!!
