Spain Launches “Spanish Language Day” Worldwide

Saturday, June 20th, marked the first-ever ‘Spanish Language Day,’ a day dedicated to celebrating the Spanish language and culture.  More than 450 million people worldwide participated in the celebration, which included a series of concerts, films and workshops.  The Cervantes Institute, a non-profit organization that promotes the Spanish language and culture, plans to hold ‘Spanish Language Day’ every year on the Saturday closet to the summer solstice.  Save the date for June 19, 2010 for the second annual ‘Spanish Day’ celebration!
