“A Guide to Working with Interpreters in Healthcare” is a 22-minute video that stresses the importance of working with a professional Interpreter when caring for a patient whose primary language is not English.  This educational video was filmed at Phoenix Children’s Hospital (PCH) and written by a PCH employee.  The video will be released this fall with the hopes of reaching U.S. healthcare workers.

The film was written by Barbara Rayes, Coordinator of translation services and language communication at PCH.  Rayes hopes the video will provide healthcare institutions with the necessary tools and knowledge to prepare for the future of multilingual healthcare.  Funding for the video was provided by Ronald McDonald House Charities.  The film is currently being edited and will be released later this fall.
