In association with the Montgomery County Education
and Workforce Partnership, LSA recently
hosted an Educator-In-The-Workplace visit
with Adam Bailey (World Language Department
Head for Plymouth
Whitemarsh High School in Plymouth Meeting, PA) and Robin Keir (Certified
French and Spanish educator at Hatboro-Horsham
High School in Horsham, PA). Mr.
Bailey and Mrs. Keir spent a day with key
members of the LSA team to learn about our
company and services, as well as discover
how we serve not only our clients, but also
multicultural communities across the globe.
Greeted by Tia Sweri, LSA’s On Location Department Assistant Manager,
the group was invited to observe an LSA
interpreter, on location at a court proceeding in Center City, Philadelphia. Upon
return to LSA headquarters, Mr. Bailey and Mrs. Keir were invited learn
about Translation & Localization with Joseph Bayerl (Department
Manager), Over-the-Phone Interpreting with Lynn Dick (Department Manager),
and Quality Assurance with Stephanie Vine (Interpreter Resource Manager). The
information gathered was formed into
lesson plans and shared with students currently studying world languages.
Mr. Bailey recently sent the following letter to LSA, outlining his
experience and gratitude:
“I wanted to thank you for your help in arranging the Educator-in-the-Workplace
visit with LSA last Thursday. Everyone at LSA was very welcoming
and helpful. Tia (Sweri) was a wonderful guide to the world of
court interpreters, and the different department supervisors were enthusiastic
representatives of their particular areas of the company. I appreciated
the opportunity to talk with the employees and listen in on a 'real
INTERPRETALK' phone call.
Upon return, I visited different classrooms of world languages and
shared with them my experiences at LSA. The students were very
receptive and some genuinely interested in pursuing careers in the
field. Please extend my gratitude to all those who met with us
on Thursday. It is nice to know that companies in the area are
not only providing quality professional services, but they are also
caring enough about the community to open their doors to interested
educators like me.”
