On April 24th, 2013, Health and Human Services (HHS) released enhanced National Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) in healthcare, a blueprint to help organizations improve healthcare quality in serving our nation’s diverse communities. The enhanced CLAS Standards have been designed to ensure that effective and equitable care is accessible to all. They also provide a framework to healthcare organizations for the delivery of culturally respectful and linguistically responsive care and services.
